Each year in the Comox Valley, a dedicated group of volunteers work tirelessly to repair many used bikes. Santa’s Workshop will try and fix anything sent their way. From tricycles to bmx, road bikes to mountain bikes, all sorts and ages of bikes and parts find their way together in the annual workshop.
It’s official; Mount Washington Alpine Resort has now surpassed- make that blown past- their old snowfall record for the month of November. The resort received a whopping 440 centimetres of snow over the last three weeks. With one week left this month, conditions are looking ideal for this Saturday’s opening day.
While 2009 may still be a month away from completion, we have already been working hard on the 2010 Vancouver Island Mountain Bike Race Series. Race Calendar, insurance updates and series planning has been underway. We hope to have the calendar ready for you within the next few weeks!
Bye-bye afterwork rides, the sun will set too early to ride other than around lit neighbourhoods. So what to do. Head on down to your local bike shop only to find your selection of lights is more like a search for the holy grail than a quick trip.
