Winter Riding on Vancouver Island

Winter Trails

Bridge may be slippery when snow covered!

Well the snow is likely going to stay around now for the upper sections of Forbidden and Cumberland.

For those of you interested to ride in the winter, some elevations to play with – Snow usually persists above 400m through the winter, so the lower Cumberland trails,  the downhill course and new Allen Lake Trails stay clear. Bucket of Blood, Bear Buns, and Grub ‘n Stub are typically snow covered for most of the winter. On the Forbidden Plateau trails, anything above Two Pond Pass is in the snow through March, leaving Tomato Creek, Rudy’s, Arbutus and the lower trails of Bics, Black Diamond, Busted Nut, Easy Rider and Transmission for winter rides.

To provide some change through the winter season why not try the following xc trails. Most can be found on our various Vancouver Island Trail Map pages.

  • Comox Valley
    • Moe’s misery
    • Seal Bay Park
